Allen Dunahoo
Financial Advisor
First and foremost, thank you for taking some of your valuable time to have a look around. I sincerely hope that once finished, you will have found it different from the well-worn path and thus enlightening.
I was born and raised in a single parent home with no siblings far away from here in Southern California. Circumstances being what they were, I learned early on the value of a strong work ethic that has remained with me into adulthood. Thank you, Mom!
While I began reading financial news as a youth and was involved in business as long as I can remember, you wouldn’t be able to tell by my education and initial career path, as I was looking to do something different; I became a pastor.
The transition in my late 30s from pastor to financial advisor was rather seamless, to the surprise of many. As a pastor prior and as a financial advisor now, I ask the same fundamental question(s); what is important to you and how can I help? Now in my 50s, I have the sincere privilege of serving a number of tremendous people; most but not all retired. Our primary focus, preparing for the “Horizon Life”, (which we can certainly discuss further if called upon).
Furthermore, I have always admired people who have worked well into their 80s; rising each day with purpose. My goal is to join them, and my motivation is twofold: 1) As most, if not all of my clients have heard me say multiple times, “I really, really, really, like what I do” (why stop otherwise?) and 2) I love working for my family.
My bride of almost, 30 years and I have eight children (we hoped for four to six, so we overshot by a couple!). Our family has grown in time as others do and through adoption. I thoroughly enjoy the responsibility of being a husband and father (grandfather too when the time comes).
If the opportunity presents itself and our paths cross, please introduce yourself to me; it would be a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
